This beautiful sculpted bust of a saint, forming a reliquary, finds comparables in Picardy, in particular around Abbeville and St-Riquier, but also in Champagne in the Trojan artistic milieu. If the quatrefoil pendant on the torso, initially receiving a relic, is still in the Gothic style, the habit of the saint belongs to the beginning of the 16th century.

Mounted on a molded and polychromed wooden base. Carved and polychromed wood, with traces of gilding.
Accidents, lacks in the polychromy, stripping of the polychromy of the face and restoration of the nose

France, Picardy or Champagne around 1500

Height: 42.5 cm - width: 38.5 - depth: 13 cm
