The apostle, which is identified by his bare feet and his classic attributes, the keys (partly conserved), is wearing a beautiful gown, the bottom falling in many tube folds, only broken on the foot, while the top undulates, slightly pinched at the waist. A very light cape, held on the chest by a beautiful brooch, falls in waves on both sides. The left hand holds a book, delicately carved and pressed against the body, slightly raising the cape. This statue, which was perhaps part of an apostolic college presented in the choir or at the gate of a church, retains important traces of polychromy: the gown was red and the other side of the cape is blue. Visible lacks : in addition to the head, some fingers and the keys. Part of the base missings. The posture, with a slight contraposto and quiet drapery, allows dating this statue to the turn of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
