Anthropomorphic capital - end XII th - early XIII th century
Black volcanic stone

Carved in a beautiful black volcanic stone, this capital is decorated with a beautiful face of a man or woman, stylized with vigor and humor, recalling the faces of the Romanesque-Gothic transition.

To the rear of the head, a round basket with leaves ending in a ball shape confirms the function of the piece as a capital, probably from a cloister.
