Corner capital, probably Cistercian

A medieval limestone capital part adorned with beautiful large leafs terminated by a crochet, a vegetal hook.

The simple, even abstract style of the carving, is typical of Cistercian foundations. Similar examples can be found in abbeys of the Languedoc founded around 1200.

The upper part as well as the back shows that this capital was engagé, part of an angle, with only two carved faces, the left one complete and the right one only partial.
