Pair of oak figures of angels, 1680 / 1720

Pair of figures of angels or virtues, Southern Netherlands (contemporary Belgium) or Northern France.
Final third of the XVII th century - first third of the XVIII th century.

The figures may represent virtues, but more probably angels, as the back seems to show missing wings.

The statues are carved in the round but the back is not carved as these pieces surely come from a large dispersed religious or civil decor dispersed. Confessionals and choir woodworks in the Southern Netherlands at these times are often decorated with such large figures.
Composed of several pieces of oak pegged.
