Allegorical Statue Of Winter In Marble, Circa 1700
 

 
     

 


 
Carved in a slightly veined white marble, this statue was certainly displayed in a park, in a group of the four seasons.
The iconography takes up the traditional type of Winter in the form of an old man veiled by a fire, represented here by burning logs at his feet.

Important erosion due to outdoor stay, marks.

Lacks on the base. Both forearms are missing as well as the right foot.
