Precious biscuit from the Tournai manufactury, featuring a seated recorder player crowned with flowers by a young, elegantly dressed woman. The lovers take place on a rock emerging from a rocaille-style stand. The fine biscuit is embellished by a lot of small flowers and plants, remarkably well made, hidden in the relief, in the flower basket, on the dress, hats, etc. Very small ribbons adorn the garments of the lovers. Small lacks. The young man's recorder is broken in two pieces and the end is missing. A few flowers incomplete, as well as a part of the man's coat. The group dates back to Tournai's manufactury second period (1762-1781), which is regarded as the best. It is close to the "leçon de Flageolet" groupe of the Mariemont museum (inv CD 1874) and other models attributed to Tournai's sculptor Nicolas Lecreux (1733-1798).
