Pair of Baroque angels in gilt wood, early eighteenth century

These angels, or putti, in gilt wood responded to each other on both sides of an altarpiece. They express perfectly the Baroque spirit, by the flight of their draperies, their hair, and the theatricality of their postures. This is an Italian work from the early eighteenth century. Conservation : some restoration to the gilding, accidents and small gaps, galleries of wood-boring insects, especially visible on the reverse. Very good condition.
